Robot Surgery, (2010) written by Jacqueline Owen
Jacqueline Owen list the advantages and disadvantages of robot surgery which i think we can all agree that makes more sense to have in our hospitals now and in the future .
Reading the passage and looking at the advantages the the advantages are more for the patience, as for the disadvantages are more towards the hospitals. Having the robot surgery done on patience lowers the risk of infections and complication , less trauma and also released from the hospital sooner which lowers the cost of staying in the hospital.
Then you have your disadvantages which in the case would be expenses . In the passage it says that one robotic surgery systems costing one million dollars and some maintenance fee, some hospitals have a hard time justifying the expense even with the savings on shorter hospital stays.
Looking at both advantages and disadvantages the advantages will only get better and the disadvantages will only get smaller for an example , we look at the expenses of medicine back in time it wasn't very cheap but as time past it was cheaper. As time goes by robotic surgery will only get more advance and less complicated and less of an expense since it will be more common. Taking away more and more disadvantages over time it is a must have process
